Software & Information Architecture

R.U.R. Systems develops software and information architectures addressing how applications organize, connect, preserve, and exchange information.

Our work considers both software behavior and the structures needed to keep information meaningful and usable across applications, platforms, and successive implementations.

Scope

Areas of interest include:

      • Software component responsibilities, interfaces, and coordination
      • Data structures and relationships between information elements
      • Interoperability and exchange across application boundaries
      • Information portability and independence from individual services
      • Integrity, traceability, and compatibility throughout the information lifecycle

Architectural Approach

We define how information is represented, how related elements remain connected, and how software components interpret and process them.

Architectural work considers the boundaries between persistent information, application state, and derived data.

The objective is to support consistent behavior and preserve essential information relationships as data moves between system environments.

Interoperability & Portability

Interoperability requires clearly defined representations, interfaces, and processing rules.

We consider applicable standards, platform capabilities, versioning, and the behavior of participating applications.

Portability is evaluated through practical exchange scenarios, with explicit attention to what is preserved, what depends on supporting software, and where limitations remain.

Development & Validation

Research combines data modeling, software design, experimental implementation, and testing.

Reference implementations are used to evaluate information handling, exchange behavior, compatibility, and recovery under defined conditions.

Validation records distinguish intended behavior from observed results and identify the environments in which interoperability has been demonstrated.

Technology & Intellectual Property

Work in this area can produce software architectures, data models, processing methods, reference implementations, and supporting documentation.

These materials support technical evaluation and potential licensing, acquisition, or strategic integration.

Project-specific technical information is shared selectively under appropriate confidentiality arrangements.
